The Weir's were planning to retire to
Arnold, but their 1400 Sq. Ft. cabin, built in the 1970's, did not meet
their needs or lifestyle requirements. However, their cabin did sit on
almost 1 acre of land, and had some extremely appealing views. Based on
their visit to another of our design/build projects, they approached us
to design and construct a remodel to their existing cabin, which would suit
both their lifestyle requirements, and their particular tastes, taking
advantage of the site properties and the views.

The
Hanson residence was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 800 Sq. Ft. cabin originally built in
the 1960's. To make the cabin more livable, we designed a garage addition with a
master bedroom and a bath above. The completed interior features new pine doors,
an updated existing bathroom, additional windows, new high efficiency forced air
heating, more energy efficient insulation and an overall design update, while
maintaining the original cabin feel. The exterior has been updated with new
siding, energy efficient vinyl windows and new exterior doors. The completed
home now has a total of 1197 square feet of living space, with a 397 Sq. Ft.
garage.

The Benson's wanted to add a new garage with maybe a
game room above to their existing cabin. They were originally
considering a detached building, but were concerned about access to it
during the winter months. We developed a design for an addition to the
existing structure which would give them the space they were looking for
tied directly to the house. The addition with a garage below and a new
great room above provides a much more livable home for their weekend
getaways.
